Dahongpao is a shrub-like plant with a half-covered crown and a height of more than 2 meters. The main trunk is still obvious, the branches are dense, the leaf tips grow diagonally, the leaves are generally 5-7cm, and the elders can reach 9-11cm ; The width is generally about 3cm, the wide one can reach 3.5-4.3cm, the middle leaf type, nearly broad oval shape, the tip is blunt and slightly sagging, the leaf margin is slightly facing, the leaf is green, the leaf flesh is slightly thick, slightly uplifted and crisp, the leaf is shallow and still clear 26-28 pairs, 6-9 pairs of leaf veins, flower type is still large, about 3cm in diameter, 6 petals, 5 sepals, filaments are sparse and slightly long, uneven, diploid, tea fruit is medium. The young shoots are strong, dark green and purple, and the summer shoots are more reddish. The germination and mining period is later than the cinnamon varieties, generally around May 10.

The shape of Dahongpao is tightly knotted, and the color is green and brown. The soup color is orange and bright after brewing. The leaves are red and green. The typical leaves have the beauty of green and red. The most outstanding quality is that the aroma is rich in orchids, with high and long-lasting fragrance and obvious rock rhyme. Dahongpao is very resistant to brewing, and it still smells after seven or eight brews.
