Notes on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)

Magnetic resonance imaging is a new type of imaging examination method in recent years, and it is a new medical imaging diagnostic technology that was applied to the clinic in the early 1980s. It has no ionizing radiation (radiation) damage; no bone artifacts; can be multi-directional (transverse, coronal, sagittal, etc.) and multi-parameter imaging; a high degree of soft tissue resolution; no need to use contrast agents to display vascular structure And other unique advantages.

MRI can be used for the examination of various system diseases. Among them, it has unique advantages in clinical diagnosis and research in brain, spinal cord, pelvic cavity, heart, liver, mediastinum, bone, muscle, soft tissue, breast, etc.

1. Those who have magnets in their bodies, such as artificial valves, residual metal foreign bodies next to important organs after vascular surgery with cardiac pacemakers and aneurysms, and pregnant women within 3 months of pregnancy, cannot perform this test. Explain the following to medical technicians: (1) whether there is a history of surgery; (2) whether any metal or magnetic substances are implanted in the body, including metal birth control rings, etc.; (3) whether there are dentures, electronic ears, artificial eyes, etc. ; (4) With or without drug allergies; (5) In the near future, with or without metallic foreign objects splashed into the body.

2. Patients with head and neck examinations should wash their hair the day before the examination, and do not wipe any hair care products.

3. Bring the test results that have been done for future use. If you have done CT or X-rays and other test results in our hospital or other hospitals, please bring them to the medical technicians for reference.

4. The clothes need to be changed before the inspection. The patient should not wear any underwear made of metal. Remove necklaces, earrings, cosmetics on the face and dentures, artificial eyes, glasses and other items. Do not bring metal objects such as mobile phones, magnetic cards, coins, and keys into the inspection room before inspection to avoid accidents and damage.

5. The magnetic resonance examination takes a long time, and the patient's environment is dark and noisy. Be mentally prepared, don't be impatient, don't be afraid, keep your position still under the guidance of a doctor, and be patient. During the examination, please follow the doctor's instructions. If discomfort occurs, please contact the inspector in time.

6. For patients who do navigation and positioning before surgery, the relevant personnel of the operating room will paste the positioning mark according to your MRI examination results. Please pay attention to protect the positioning mark to prevent falling off.

【Special Notes】

1. Examiners of the craniocerebral and nervous systems do not need special preparations. They should be head and neck patients. Please do not blink or swallow during the examination.

2. Abdominal examiner, do not do gastrointestinal barium meal examination within one week before examination, fast for four hours before examination.

3. MRI examination takes a long time, and critical patients can not cooperate, it is not suitable for this examination.
