Nine points to note in the running-in period of the new car Avoid running long distances and avoid speeding

Buying a new car at home is naturally a very happy thing. However, in addition to being happy, have you ever thought about the question: Do new cars need maintenance during the running-in period?

Running-in refers to letting the new car walk for a period of time to allow the various parts of the engine to run in smoothly. When the new car leaves the factory and starts to run, since the moving parts of each part of the car have not been worn in, it must be used with caution, otherwise the damage to the parts will be exacerbated. Therefore, it is generally stipulated that within a certain initial mileage, for example, the driving of cars within 100 to 2500 kilometers should be strictly implemented according to the regulations. This period is called the run-in period of cars. Of course, this does not mean that without break-in, the car will be damaged. However, in order to maintain the good performance of the car for a long time, it must be run-in. If the run-in can be performed correctly, the good feeling when driving can be greatly improved. The new car running-in period has the following characteristics:

1. Many driving failures: due to factors such as improper assembly of various components, new vehicles have more driving failures during the running-in period;

2. Large fuel consumption: In order to ensure that the new car runs under a small load during the running-in period, the carburetor car is equipped with a speed limiter. Therefore, it is very easy to cause the mixture to be too rich, thereby increasing the fuel consumption;

3. Lubricating oil is easy to deteriorate: during the running-in period of the new car, due to the rough surface of the parts and the small gap between the two parts, the temperature of the lubricating oil will increase. At the same time, many metal chips will be ground and fall into the lubricating oil, which will easily oxidize the lubricating oil And deteriorated.

Here are some points to note when using the new car during the running-in period:

1. Warm up before starting: This is for EFI vehicles. Before starting, turn the key to the second gear and wait 5-10 seconds before starting. This is because after the key door is opened, the gasoline pump Start working to adjust the oil pressure and fuel injection amount, so start again after a few seconds to protect the engine of the new car;

2. Avoid emergency braking: Emergency braking not only impacts the brake system during running-in, but also increases the impact load of the chassis and the engine. It is best not to brake in the first 300 kilometers;

3. Avoid excessive load: If the new car runs at full load during the running-in period, it will cause damage to the machine parts. Therefore, within 1000 kilometers of the initial driving, domestic cars cannot exceed 75%-80% of the rated load, and imported cars cannot exceed the rated 90% of the load, in addition, in order to reduce the load on the body and power system, the flat road surface should be selected to avoid vibration, collision or emergency braking;

4. Avoid running long distances: the new car runs long distances during the running-in period, and the continuous working time of the engine will increase, which is easy to cause wear of the machine parts;

5. Do not drive at high speed: There are speed limits during the running-in period of new cars. Domestic cars are generally within 40-70 km/h, and imported cars are generally within 80 km/h. When the throttle is fully open, the speed cannot exceed 80% of the maximum speed , And pay attention to observe the engine tachometer and speedometer while driving, to ensure that the engine speed and vehicle speed work at medium speed, under normal circumstances, the engine speed during the running-in period should be 2000-4000 rpm;

6. Use high-quality gasoline: The gasoline used by the new car during the running-in period should not be lower than the manufacturer's specified label. High-quality gasoline should be added as much as possible. Do not add anti-wear oils to avoid insufficient mileage and running-in;

7. Avoid removing the speed limiter in advance: the speed limiter is a throttling device installed between the carburetor and the intake pipe. The owner cannot remove it in advance, and should wait for the new car to drive for 1,000 kilometers before changing it. It is demolished;

8. Shift in time: Shift in time is to avoid high gear low speed and low gear high speed driving, do not use a gear for a long time, and do not make the speed of each gear reach the limit. Generally speaking, each gear The speed is controlled within the range of 3/4 of the top speed, specifically: 1 block 25 kilometers, 2 block 40 kilometers, 3 block 60 kilometers, 4 block 90 kilometers, and 5 block 100 kilometers;

9. Correctly adjust the ignition system and fuel supply system: this can solve the changes in the vacuum fuel economizer caused by the installation of the speed limiter, and improve the economy of the running-in period.

In addition, in order to keep the new car mechanical system in the best condition and extend its service life, it is recommended that new car owners maintain your car in stages during the run-in period:

1. Within 100 kilometers: the friction brake pads have not yet reached 100% braking effect, and the tire friction is not enough. Therefore, when braking, apply more force than normal. In addition, in inspection and maintenance, the exposed bolts and nuts should be tightened , Add fuel, engine oil, add coolant, check the air pressure of the transmission, front and rear drive axles, transmission shafts, wheels and tires, check the braking capacity of lighting instruments, batteries and brake systems;

2. 100-500 kilometers: the tire adhesion has not yet reached the best effect. The owner should try to avoid emergency braking during rapid cornering. In addition, in the inspection and maintenance, the engine oil should be replaced, and the oil pan should be cleaned with kerosene to replace the oil Filter element, and fasten front and rear hub nuts;

3. 500-2500 kilometers: the owner should drive gently, the speed should not exceed 100 kilometers per hour, and the speed should not exceed 2500 revolutions;

4. 2500-3500 kilometers: When the water temperature reaches the working temperature, the owner can increase the speed to the highest speed or the maximum engine speed. In addition, if your car is a domestic car, you need to replace the transmission, main reducer and steering gear. The gear oil, and check and adjust the clutch pedal.

5. After 3,000 kilometers for a routine maintenance, the coordination between all moving parts in the car can achieve smooth movement and can play the best performance of the vehicle.
